The 6 ways to boost our IMMUNITY

(1) Greet others with Namaste! This way of greeting not only saves us but also brings in a sense of humility.

(2) Stay 6 feet away from anyone. "Namaste" is possible from a distance of 6 feet as well, but hug & hand shake are not!

(3) Twice a day, "sugar less" herbal teas. Recommended: Lemon grass, mint, holy basil & ginger

(4) Stop refrigerated / processed / cold / junk food / ice creams etc and ensure that you daily drink 2 to 3 liters of (lukewarm) water. Even today, almost at every home and restaurant in Kerala (India), lukewarm water is served

(5) Daily practice the following
i) Yogasana: bridge pose, camel pose, spinal twist, fish pose, bow pose & sun salutation.
ii) Pranayama: (a) right in & out breath, (b) breath of fire, (c) bellow breathing, (d) humming bee technique, (e) alternate nostril breathing & (f) victorious breath. Here, Elvira is seen practicing alternate nostril breathing with nasika and chin mudras.
iii) Kriya: Jal neti (nasal passage cleansing technique). One of the recommended 6 techniques
iv) Mantra: You are free to choose a mantra or tasbih or name of the lord or anything that is aligned with your religious or spiritual belief. I recommend the mantra "am bhagavaha" as this was shared by the great seer Sri Kanchi Periyava . Pronunciation key: "am" is pronounced as the UM in umbrella, bha is bold because that sound should be produced from the navel. This mantra can be chanted or meditated upon by anyone at anytime under any condition. More on this in a later blog.
v) Mudra: Chin (as breath reaches the lowest lobe of the lung). Adopt this mudra not just during meditation but even while just being seated or watching television or whenever possible
vi) Yoga Nidra: The process from Tantra brought out in the current form by Swami Satyananda Saraswati of Bihar School of Yoga.
vii) Clap well for at least 5 minutes daily. Those who wish to develop immunity or old people could clap for 20 minutes a day. The method is different from the regular clapping. Observe the image. It is only in this method, 28 pressure points of our hands get activated. There are 340 such points throughout the body but these 28 hold the key. When we get hand or foot reflexology done, it is these pressure points that instantly help us experience relief, relaxation and energy.
(6) Catch up with sleep! Ensure that you get 7 hours of sleep at night as it helps, the body & mind to relax, and the internal organs to work optimally
There are many ways but as "6 feet" became a buzzword, thought of sharing 6 ways. Feel free to ask questions....

PS: It is HIGHLY recommended to learn Yoga processes from a competent professional.
